We found this resource, and although it appears to be a part of a larger body of work, it is a great overview of white box testing. This, 15 page, paper positions white box testing within the whole testing (Verification) process. There is a ‘must read’ section that begins “There are six basic types of testing: unit, integration, function/system, acceptance, regression, and beta. White-box testing is used for three of these six types".
